Amore e Roma, The Red Under the City of Rome is a limited edition artist’s book featuring a selection of works from Garbrielle Senza’s Seeing Red / Amore e Roma series of works on parchment. The series, started while living in Rome in 1997, examines contemporary issues facing women today. Love, trust, passion, hate, incest, rape and domestic violence are a few of the challenges women of all ages are confronted with every day. Gabrielle Senza’s book is the first part of an ongoing multi-media project that aims to give voice to the voiceless.

Amore e Roma contains ten acetate pages of images and text printed digitally and backed with white sheets of 80 lb. paper. The front and back covers are 4-ply museum board; the front cover has a printed overlay of clear acetate over the museum board. The books are hand-tied with red satin ribbon and are signed and numbered by the artist in an edition of 30.

Amore e Roma, The Red Under the City of Rome is included in the collections of The Whitney Museum of American Art and The Museum of Modern Art Artist Book Collection in New York City and The Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry in Miami.
