Seeing Red

For me it ranges from the personal to the political, from primordial angst to orgasmic joy. The AMORE E ROMA series was started in 1997 when I took a short break from my art life in the States to immerse myself in the ancient city of Rome. Based on my experiences and observations, curiosities and passions, I created hundreds of these works on paper (oil on tracing paper to be specific). They each measure 9 x 12 inches. I've exhibited the originals in galleries and alternative spaces - always unframed, hung in a large expansive grid directly on the wall, vulnerable to both air currents and curious fingers.
