Physical, sexual and emotional abuse are difficult topics to talk about, and up until recently, a cultural taboo to address publicly. In 2001 we began breaking the silence on these topics through a variety of initiatives, including the Collaborative Scroll and the series of Walk Unafraid public interventions that incorporate the words of abuse survivors, family, friends, social workers, artists, and law enforcement professionals.
